Children’s Theater Field Trip

This Friday is the field trip to CLHS for the children’s theater play, “The Princess with No Name.” Thank you to everyone who filled out the permission slip and driving form. If you have not done so, please take a moment to fill it out so we can plan accordingly.

If you are driving, please be at school by 9:00 so we can get students into the right cars. Students should bring a sack lunch which we will eat on campus at CLHS. We should return to school around 2:00. If your child is not attending, they have the day off from school, as all teachers plan on attending. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Second Trimester

Report cards were sent home last week or will be sent home this Monday. We do not have set times for parent-teacher conferences after the second trimester.  If you would like to speak with your child’s teacher about their progress, please reach out to set up a time.

2023-2024 School Calendar

Thank you to all that filled out the survey on the school calendar. We appreciate the feedback and found that there is a wide array of opinions on the calendar, start and end dates, and breaks. You can find the 2023-2024 school year calendar under the Parents Resources page on the school website.

School Pictures – Yearbook

Each year, students are able to purchase a yearbook that has class photos and highlights from throughout the year.  Sheena Carter is kind enough to put together the yearbook for the school. If you have any pictures from school events that would work for the yearbook, please share them with her through Google Photos – [email protected].

For those that have an 8th-grade student that is graduating, each student receives their own page in the yearbook with pics throughout their life and, if you so desire, a special message from their parents/guardians.  These items can also be sent to Sheena Carter.

IFLY Field Trip

The IFLY field trip is this coming Wednesday.  We will be leaving at 9:30 from school with the field trip starting at 10:00.  We will be split into two groups: one will do a science demonstration, and the other with do the indoor skydiving, and then switch. The field trip will end at 1:00, and we plan to eat lunch back at school.

Calendar Update

We have an important update for you to include in your calendars. The Board of Education has approved that there will be no school on Friday, May 12, due to a number of the faculty being out of town on this date.

Since we are making an unexpected change to the calendar, childcare will be available for this day for any families that are unable to accommodate this change.

Parking Lot Damage

We are aware of the damage to the north parking lot.  We hoped to wait until Summer to repair and reseal the parking lot to avoid issues with pick-up and drop-off, but that might not be an option.  I appreciate your patience as we plan the next steps, and I will inform you of any decisions regarding this.
